Genu vs RestoMenum: An Honest Comparison (2026)

Genu is business software for restaurants, cafés and bars in Türkiye that brings the QR menu, bill and POS (cashier), waiter and kitchen display, stock and customer credit accounts together in a single panel. RestoMenum is also a cloud-based POS program; the two products solve the same job with different pricing logic.

RestoMenum sells modularly: a Standart (Standard) plan plus annually charged add-on modules such as the QR menu, delivery platforms, fiscal cash register and a loyalty programme. Genu, in the Pro plan, delivers the entire operation — from the QR menu to a cashier that keeps working when the internet goes down — at a single price. The tables below put the data from both companies' official websites side by side, with dates.

Build the calculation around your own scenario

For a single-branch venue that takes orders from the QR menu and has a bill and cashier, the starting cost at RestoMenum is Standart ₺6.990 + QR menu ₺1.990 = ₺8.980 + VAT/year. At Genu, the same job is ₺24.999 in Pro; that price also includes the loyalty programme sold as a separate module at RestoMenum (₺9.990 + VAT), plus a cashier that keeps selling when the internet goes down, AR/3D product viewing and a menu published on your own domain. List the modules you need and calculate both totals with this table.

What can the cashier do when the internet goes down?

Both products run from the cloud; the difference is which work continues at the cashier when the connection drops. According to RestoMenum's own FAQ, its 'Kısmi Offline Modu' (Partial Offline Mode) shows existing bills and the latest status of the tables during an outage; adding new orders and payments requires an internet connection. At Genu, offline operation is provided by the Genu Desktop application installed on the cashier computer.

The RestoMenum column is taken from the answer to the FAQ 'İnternet olmadan adisyon programı çalışır mı?' (Does the POS program work without internet?) and the description of 'Kısmi Offline Modu' on RestoMenum's home page (25 September 2026).
  • Also available at Genu during an outage: putting bills on hold, bill notes, sales to and collections from customer credit accounts, cashier expenses, cash counts and the end-of-day close (the Z report receipt is printed when the connection returns).
  • Staff sign-in is not interrupted: at shift changes and on the screen lock, the cashier's PIN is verified on the cashier computer.
  • Bills and kitchen tickets are printed from the printers connected to the cashier computer even during an outage.
  • The cashier screen opens even if it is refreshed or reopened during an outage; the cashier picks up where they left off with their PIN.
  • When the connection returns, every transaction is recorded in the cloud in order and exactly once; the start and end times of the outage are written to the end-of-day report.

Difference in focus

  • RestoMenum's structure: a Standart plan; capabilities such as the QR menu, delivery platforms, fiscal cash register, e-invoice, kiosk and loyalty are added as annual add-on modules as needed.
  • Genu's structure: end-to-end service in a single package — an order the customer places from the QR menu is approved at the waiter terminal and goes to the station-based kitchen display, is paid at the cashier, stock is deducted from the recipe, and the end-of-day report arrives in your email at the time you set.
  • Resilience to outages: at a cashier with Genu Desktop installed, new orders, taking payments, closing bills and the end-of-day continue when the internet goes down.
  • The best test for making a decision: upload your menu to Genu and try it for 30 days in real service, without giving a credit card.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the main difference between Genu and RestoMenum?

Pricing and behaviour during outages. RestoMenum sells capabilities such as the QR menu, loyalty programme and fiscal cash register as annual add-on modules on top of the Standart plan (₺6.990 + VAT/year); Genu Pro (₺24.999/year) delivers them in a single package. When the internet goes down, according to RestoMenum's own FAQ a connection is needed for new orders and payments; at a Genu cashier with Genu Desktop installed, ordering, taking payments and the end-of-day continue during an outage too.

Can I switch from RestoMenum to Genu?

Yes — we move your menu together with you. If you paid your previous provider 10.000 TL or more per year and your subscription is still running, your remaining months (up to 9 months) are added to your Genu annual subscription under the Transfer Bonus (Geçiş Bonusu); see the gecis-bonusu page for the terms.

Does Genu have Yemeksepeti/Getir integration?

Delivery platform integration is on Genu's roadmap. Today Genu manages delivery and takeaway sales through its own channel: queue-numbered delivery bills at the cashier, separate prices for table, takeaway and delivery, a packaging fee, and orders customers place from the menu all come together on the same screen.
