Waiter Approval for QR Table Orders
In Genu, an order placed from the QR menu at the table does not go straight to the kitchen. Every order first lands as 'waiting for waiter approval' and a notification reaches the waiter's phone instantly; if it is still waiting after 30 seconds, the notification is sent again. Until a waiter or manager approves it, the order is written neither to the kitchen screen and printer nor to the check; once approved it reaches the screen and printer of the station the product belongs to. A wrong, duplicate or prank order is rejected with one tap; a reason can be added, the guest sees the status on the menu, and if no other order remains on the check it closes by itself at zero. A waiter with assigned regions can approve orders only for tables in their own regions; a manager approves for all tables, and the owner can approve from the app. Every approval and rejection is written to the activity log with who did it and when. The same protection applies to joining a table: when someone scans the QR of a table whose check is more than 10 minutes old and already has an order or shared cart, they are not added automatically; approval is requested from the people at the table first and, if there is no answer within 60 seconds, from the waiter. Renewing the table QR invalidates the old one.

How It Works
- 1
Guest Places the Order
The guest builds a cart in the QR menu at the table and sends the order.
- 2
The Waiter Is Notified
The order lands as 'waiting for waiter approval'; a notification reaches the waiter's phone and repeats after 30 seconds if it is still waiting.
- 3
Approve or Reject
A waiter or manager approves or rejects the order with one tap; a waiter with assigned regions approves only their own tables.
- 4
Written to Kitchen and Check
Once approved the order reaches the station's kitchen screen, printer and the check; if rejected nothing is written and the guest sees the status.
Frequently asked questions
Does a QR order reach the kitchen without waiter approval?
No. Every order placed from the table waits for a waiter or manager to approve it; until then it is written to neither the kitchen screen, the printer nor the check.
What if the waiter misses the notification?
The order waits and is written nowhere. The waiter's phone is notified instantly and again after 30 seconds if it is still waiting; a manager or the owner can approve it too.
Who can approve an order?
A waiter or manager; the owner can approve from the app. A waiter with assigned regions can approve orders only for tables in their own regions.
Can a wrong or prank order be rejected?
Yes, with one tap; a reason can be added. The guest sees the status on the menu, nothing is written to the check or kitchen, and who rejected it is logged.
Can someone who scans the table QR later order directly?
Not when the check is more than 10 minutes old and already has an order or shared cart: approval is requested from the people at the table first and, with no answer in 60 seconds, from the waiter.
