Genu was born behind a table.
For ten years we kept menus, took orders, called out in the kitchen, split bills. Genu is that experience turned into software. Not an anonymous SaaS; a hospitality operating system that came from a real table and carries a single signature.

A note on why
we exist.
The digital menu market in Türkiye had been squeezed into a space where the same templates were sold in different colors. There was no platform truly designed for premium venues, one that actually lived up to their standard. Gelen Medya is the studio that came to close that gap; Genu is its first major answer.
We built Genu without taking a single decision from behind a display window, and without standing in the customer's place. Every screen is the answer to a real restaurant service, every notification to a real kitchen call, every audit entry to a real argument. From QR menu to kitchen, from kitchen to cashier, in one flow with one tone.
Standing with the venue owner is not marketing for us; it is a working principle. That is why we do not hide who we are or where we come from.

Özer Güzel came from the field: waiting tables in cafés, working shifts behind the cashier, running small-scale café operations. But the real lens behind Genu is much wider than that. Years of working side by side with dozens of cafés and restaurants under Gelen Medya, listening to the same problem from both the customer and the venue at the same time. Genu is not the product of a team; it is the product of a single founder who knows the industry from both the table and the cashier.
The other lens is technology. Since childhood he has seen software and automation as a tool that can replace pointless busywork in every part of life. Across seven or eight years of web and software practice he kept asking the same question: can this process, this step, this wait be automated? In 2024 that reflex turned to the gap in the digital menu market; gelenqr launched in the local market that year, entered the daily operations of cafés and restaurants, and matured by being shaped on the field day after day.
After that early success the bar was raised again: a system the venue owner, the staff, and the customer can all use with the same ease and intuition. After a year of relentless development gelenqr came out of beta as Genu, a single hospitality operating system that opens to the cashier, the kitchen, and the floor. Today it is ready for use. The system is filled out with a new capability every day, with the pen of a founder who follows AI and the front edge of the industry daily and carries the design discipline learned from the media industry into every screen of the product.
Decisions are not made by a flat committee but by a single person sitting next to the user. That is why every detail feels like part of one whole, the typography, the sound, the micro-interactions, the audit log.
An AR menu on every premium table in Türkiye, a KDS in every kitchen, Genu Desktop on every cashier. Take hospitality technology out of luxury and make it the standard; and do it with a locally built, KVKK compliant infrastructure.
Within five years we want to bring the order, kitchen, and payment flow of every premium venue in Türkiye to a single tone. Within ten years, to leave behind the era when hospitality software was imported from abroad.
