Queue Management — Live Place on Phone

When the venue is full, a guest joins the queue from the venue page in the QR menu; they enter a name and party size (these fill in by themselves if they are signed in with WhatsApp) and follow their place live on their phone. When a table is ready, staff call them from the till or the waiter screen, and if the guest's phone is on record a WhatsApp message is sent. Staff seat the guest or mark them 'no-show' or 'cancelled'. The queue is switched on in the venue settings and is invisible to guests while off. This is the waiting line at the door; it is separate from the 'order ready screen' that shows ready order numbers on the dining-room TV.

Frequently asked questions

How does a guest see their place in the queue?

On the page where they joined, live on their phone; the screen updates by itself as the queue moves.

How is the guest told when a table is ready?

Staff call the guest; if the phone number is on record a WhatsApp message is sent.

Is this the same as the order ready screen?

No. The queue is the line of guests waiting for a table at the door; the order ready screen shows ready order numbers on the dining-room TV.
