End-of-Day (Z) Report and Till Closing
The end-of-day report is Genu's Z report that closes the business day; it brings sales, the payment method breakdown, the VAT breakdown, voids with their reasons, comps and category/item sales into one document. The business day follows your closing time, not the calendar: in a bar that closes at 3 a.m., a sale at 2:59 goes into that day's report. An interim report can be taken during the day. The opening float, cash payments, expenses paid from the till and cash movements give the expected cash; with a cash count, any overage or shortage shows up. Meal card payments are listed per provider, parked checks on the Attention line and internet outage windows in their own section. The report is emailed to the owner and the accountant at the time you set, and AI writes a short summary of the day in a few sentences. The end-of-day (Z) report is part of the Pro plan; it is built from till and check data and does not replace the fiscal Z report of a cash register (ÖKC). The report also gives orders, collections, discounts, cancellations, hours worked and labour cost per staff member; units and revenue ranking per product, products that never sold and the most-cancelled products; and breakdowns by hour, channel (waiter, QR, online) and table-area, and compares the day with yesterday, the same weekday last week and the 7-day average. Cancellations are listed with who made them, when and for what reason. For period charts see Sales, Product and Staff Reports.

Frequently asked questions
Which day do after-midnight sales go to?
It follows your closing time. At a venue that closes at 3 a.m., a 2:59 sale goes into that business day's report.
Is the report sent to my accountant automatically?
Yes. At the time you set, the report is emailed to the owner's and the accountant's addresses.
How do I see a cash shortage?
With the cash count. Counted cash is compared with the cash that should be in the till, and any overage or shortage appears in the report.
Can I see voided items?
Yes. Voids are listed in the report with who made them, when and why.
