Staff Management — Roles and PIN Sign-In

Staff management is where Genu gives each employee permissions by role and a 6-digit PIN to sign in. The roles are cashier, waiter, kitchen and manager, and each role enters only its own screen: cashiers at kasa.genu.tr, waiters at garson.genu.tr, kitchen at mutfak.genu.tr and managers at yonetici.genu.tr. Voiding a confirmed item or changing its price is limited to the cashier and manager roles; a reason is mandatory and the action is written to the audit log. Cooks, kitchen assistants, dishwashers or couriers who don't use the panel can be added to the list too; they appear on the shift schedule and in staff payments. Advances, day wages and salaries paid from the till are linked to the person, and the monthly total per person is visible. Staff clock in and out with their PIN on the time-clock keypad at the till. When a staff member is deactivated, their open session ends and the device returns to the PIN screen. The permission limits are defined in the code: cancelling a confirmed item, reducing its quantity or changing its price is possible only for the cashier and manager roles, and waiters cannot do it; every cancellation and price change requires a reason, and the action is written to the audit log and to the cancellation list in the end-of-day report with who, when, which amount and what reason. A discount is applied only when the check is closed, with a reason. A waiter can close only an empty table; closing a table that has items needs a cashier or manager and a reason, and is logged. PINs are stored one-way encrypted; after 5 wrong attempts the person is locked out for 5 minutes. A session is tied to the device: the venue owner shuts off a lost or handed-over device's access from the panel instantly. A waiter with assigned areas manages only the tables in those areas; when the till sits idle the screen saver starts and an optional PIN lock protects the screen.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Add Staff

In the panel, go to Staff > New Staff and set a name, role and 6-digit PIN.

  2. 2

    Assign Areas and Stations

Give waiters an area and kitchen staff a station.

  3. 3

    Add Staff Without Logins

Add cooks, kitchen assistants and others who don't use the panel, without a PIN.

  4. 4

    Share the Screens

Each role signs in at its own address with a PIN: till, waiter, kitchen, manager.
