Store Credit and Account Tracking

Venues with regular customers usually keep the account book on paper, and the month always ends in an argument. Genu moves that book into the cashier: every sale posts to the account, appears line by line on the statement, collections are recorded and the balance is always current. You set a credit limit per customer; when it is exceeded the system either warns or refuses the sale. Default due day and payment terms, account-level discounts, and comping in either a new sale or an existing balance are all supported. Account balances flow into the end-of-day report and the manager panel.

Highlights

  • Store credit ledger for regulars and companies; sales are charged to the account at the till.
  • Partial or full account payments are taken at the till.
  • Credit limit and itemised statement per account.
  • Supplier accounts: purchases add to what you owe, payments settle it; supplier accounts never show at the till.
  • Receivables and Payables tabs with your net position on one screen.
  • On a till with Genu Desktop, account sales and collections work when the internet drops.
  • Supplier accounts in the manager panel and at the till (managers only): a purchase / invoice adds to what you owe, Pay settles it; a cash payment from the till comes out of the drawer.
  • If a customer pays more than the balance or leaves a prepayment, it stays as a credit balance and is used on the next sale.
  • Customer accounts are included in Premium, Pro and Enterprise.

Frequently asked questions

Can my regulars pay at the end of the month?

Yes. Sales are charged to the customer's account at the till, and you collect at month end with a statement.

Can I collect part of the balance?

Yes. Partial account payments are taken at the till and the balance updates immediately.

Can I set a credit limit?

Yes. A credit limit can be set for each account.

Can I track what I owe suppliers?

Yes. Supplier accounts track purchases and payments; your total payables and net position show on the summary cards.

Can I record a supplier purchase invoice and my payment to the supplier?

Yes. A manager opens a supplier account, adds the debt with Add purchase (invoice number, date and due date) and settles it with Pay (cash, card or transfer); the balance shows as what we owe. These screens open in the manager panel and at the till in a manager session.
